Interesting Fact: I knew Scott would be a great Sr. Pastor when our church was in the market for one, but when my husband & I ran into him at The Eagles concert, he had my vote for sure!
I was born in Sanger, California (home of the BEST Mexican Pastry in the WORLD!) and grew up knowing there was a God, but because I attended a few different churches, I never had a personal relationship with Him. My husband and I met at work, and after our first "friend date" (which was also the same day I was Confirmed in the Catholic Church) we were inseparable. He questioned me about my beliefs, and when I couldn't give concrete answers, he invited me to his church (EVFree). Here, I was actually invited to open, read, and study my Bible, not just bring it to church as an accessory. Having the Gospel presented to me in such a clear, concise way, I decided to confess my sins to God, ask for His forgiveness, and accept Christ's invitation of salvation.
Today I am happily married to Thomas, who proposed to me in the parking lot of the Cedar Lanes bowling alley. We had just gone through the drive-up window at Glendale Federal Bank (he said he wanted me to see his account balance, as this was his way of letting me in his "circle of trust" !) Nine years later, he still keeps me wondering about him, but he always manages to make me laugh! We have 3 kids, Marissa 15, Jacob 9, and Noah 4.
I've attended The Bridge since 1994, and worked in the AWANA program, where I am currently the Sparks Director. I have also taught Sunday school in the Preschool Department, and am also involved with VBS and MOPs. |
