Favorite Food: Come on! Is
there really anything other than In-N-Out Burger?
Birthday: February 13th (the
day before Debi Lusk's birthday)
Interesting Facts: He once gave a cute girl $50 for a Mexico
mission trip and a few months later she married him. Her name is Brandy.
Another interesting fact: At the age of 24, his left lung
decided to spontaneously explode and had to have part of his lung removed.
(Okay, it didn't really explode, but he says it sure felt like it!)
Hobbies: His wife Brandy is both his best friend and hobby.
She's his confidant and the rock who holds him up in prayer keeping him
accountable to his dreams, hopes and desires. He says that Brandy is "the best
that a man can have. So back off, she's already taken!"
Children: Tiana, Josiah, Ashton and Cale Jayden... with another
one arriving soon directly from Russia (her new name is a secret).
Nathan was born and raised in Fresno, coming to Christ early in life. He grew up
in a Quaker church because of his family's love for Oatmeal. We're not sure if
that is accurate.
In high school, he started attending The Bridge (it had a mysteriously longer
name back then) and truly learned to serve the Lord in high school, college and
during many missions trips. He has always believed that the local church can be
the hope of the world and continues to pray that when the greater Bodies of
Christ learn to work together... amazing things than we cannot imagine will happen.
After marrying Brandy, she humored him while he worked for a stage lighting
company and traveled the nation extensively for 7 months of the year working on
corporate events, parties, tradeshows and movie premieres. He had to wear a name
tag when he was actually at home. Over the next 11 years he worked with clients
like Sony Playstation, GM, Intel, Cisco, NIKE, The President of Chile, and the
Opening/Closing Ceremonies for the Special Olympics in Anchorage, Alaska.
Interestingly enough, while in Alaska, he experienced -8 degree weather for
three weeks. During that period he also witnessed a group of Alaskans debating
whether it was cold enough for coats. Nathan was disturbed when they decided
that it wasn't cold enough.
For the last 6 years, he owned and operated a technology firm that specializing
in design and installation of lighting, video and audio systems for churches.
Working with a wide variety of churches throughout California, he enjoyed the
opportunity to help churches make a difference by educating and providing
technology that enhanced their congregations' worship experience. Quite the
opposite of his conservative Quaker heritage!
As Nathan reflects, he can see with great detail how God has orchestrated his
life to prepare him his role here at The Bridge. His friends can see it too.
Through the learning of patience, leadership, handling emergencies, business
practices, unique finances and client relations, God began preparing him for his
part for over a decade before the job was offered. And God is continuing to
teach and equip him.
