Director of Worship and Arts
|
|
Nickname: Vin or Vinny
Birthday: November 10
Favorite Food: Italian and Mexican
Favorite Movie: Braveheart or Jerry Maguire or Forest Gump
Most Embarrassing Moment: After directing a concert in Germany, the host, a big, sweaty, unshaved man came up to the stage with flowers to congratulate us and gave me a bear hug and kissed my cheek (giving me a razor burn)!
Spouse: Cindy
Kids: Tim, Dan, and David
Anniversary: August 20, 1988
Interesting Fact: Back in the day, Vin was the Student Body President (Spring) of his alma mater, Hoover High School.
Vin has been involved in music and worship since his teen years, singing and playing guitar. He sang in his high school choirs, and he was in the youth choir here at The Bridge. He has fond memories of their summer tours presenting “The Witness.” Vin earned a Bachelor’s degree and teaching credential at Fresno State and second Bachelor’s degree in music (composition, music theory, and conducting) at San Jose State.
Vin toured with the Continental Singers for eight years and was a director for five years. He has been to almost all of the 50 states, Canada, Bermuda, and most of the western European countries, as well as Poland (One of the starkest experiences was going to Auschwitz to see the memorial to the victims of the Holocaust). Vin’s last two tours were based in Europe and were comprised mostly of European high school and college-aged students. His final tour was the European Orchestra and Singers – yes, we set up and tore down a full orchestra with sound, lights and media everyday!
Together with Cindy, Vin has served in worship arts in seven churches in the Bay Area, Seattle-area, and now, the Central Valley. |
