Name: Brandon Blumberg
Nicknames: Big Daddy, “B”,
Funny Boy, Cartoon Face, and Coolest guy in the world
Birthday: January 3rd
(the day the world became blessed)
Favorite Food: Manicotti, Ice
Cream, and Pickles (though not all at the same time; that would be
disgusting)
Most Embarrassing Moment: I do
not get embarrassed very easily, if ever, but there was one experience I
would gladly erase. I was on the basketball team in High School and we
would practice at the same time as the cheerleaders. One of the
cheerleaders though it would be funny to pants me in front of my team as
well as the rest of the cheer squad. Without thinking about what could
possibly go wrong, she decided to pants me when I was not paying attention,
and inadvertently pulled everything down, leaving my caboose out in the open
for all to see, and remind me of constantly. Though she was very
apologetic and vowed never to do it again, I never turned my back to her
again.
Spouse: Meagan Blumberg
(pretty much the greatest person in the world)
Anniversary Date: January 8, 2005
Kids: Jaxon Alexander
Blumberg, 12/28/07 (pretty much tied for the greatest person in the world)
Favorite Hobbies: Watching
movies, playing basketball, embarrassing other people (especially in public
places), licking cacti (cactuses), and driving in a circle with my flashers
on.
Favorite Sports Team: Any
sports team from Antarctica or those that play any sport that include
porcupine.
Interesting Facts: I have worn
a pink dress (I lost a bet and was forced to wear it against my will), I
have eaten a goat (well, not the whole goat), and I can count to 10 without
using any of my fingers.
When you were a child, what did you want
to be when you grew up: I wanted to fly fighter jets, be an ice
cream tester, and be a carpenter (like someone else we all know and love).
Brandon was born in the great city of
Fresno and raised way out in no man’s land, the Madera Ranchos. He did
not grow up in a Christian home and did not choose to follow Christ until he
was in High School. He started attending The Bridge (formerly
Evangelical Free Church of Fresno) at that time. He heard the gospel
for the first time during his Junior High years through the work of Scott
and Brenda McElroy and their daughter Candice. Though he knew the
gospel message and liked what he heard, he did not choose to be a follower
of Christ until his sophomore year in High School.
Upon graduating from Buchannan High School,
he left to receive an education from the greatest Christian College in the
land, Biola University in Southern California. It was there that he
met his most wonderful and amazing wife, Meagan, and began training for
ministry. Upon graduating from Biola, he received his Masters of
Divinity from Talbot School of Theology, the greatest biblical seminary in
the land.
After finishing all of his schooling, from
the greatest Christian Institutions in the land, he was called back to
Fresno, a place he never thought he would return to (definitively proving
that God does indeed have a sense of humor). In December of 2007
Brandon and Meagan welcomed their firstborn, Jaxon Alexander Blumberg, who
was awarded “the cutest baby in the history of the world award,” a
prestigious award given only to one baby in all of history. He is a
big ‘jokester’ and says, “If you don’t know how to laugh, then you don’t
know how to live.” He has been on staff here at the Bridge since
September of 2007 and is excited to see what God has for his life and his
family.
