Kari was born and raised in Fresno to a wonderful, loving Christian home. She
has a sister who is 3 years younger, who teaches at Big Valley Grace in Modesto.
She also has a brother who is 11 years younger (Can you imagine how much fun
that was for she and her sister?). He is also a pastor at Granada Heights
Friends church in La Mirada.
Kari is happily and contentedly single and believes the Lord has given her that
as a special gift. She is a graduate of Hoover High School and later went to
Fresno State for two years, before deciding to move to Southern California to be
near her best friend and start a new adventure in life. While living there, she
worked for a blueprinting company for 15 years - the owners became like her
second parents. She still gets warm fuzzy feelings when she smells blueprint
ammonia.
While in So. Cal. she attended Calvary Chapel - Costa Mesa, where she got
involved in a small home study. Over the years, the study grew so much to the
point of needing to meet somewhere else. Since their Bible study leader had been
studying for full time ministry, they were led by the Lord to plant a Calvary
Chapel in Los Alamitos. What an exciting experience that must have been! Kari
treasures those times.
In 2000, her father needed emergency open-heart surgery and during that time,
she felt the Lord leading her to move back to the valley to be near her parents.
By the way, her father is fine now. Through a series of miraculous events, she
ended up with this job here at The Bridge. She is our bookkeeper and accounts
receivable. She shares a home with her best friend.
Kari loves being on staff, loves the friendships she has developed here both
among staff and the church itself and she is quite possibly the funniest person
in the office.
