Marie was raised in a Catholic home and came to
know Jesus as her Lord and Savior in High School through Youth for Christ /
Campus Life. She grew up in Fresno and graduated from CSU Fresno in 1978 with a
degree in Child Development. That same year she met and married Hal.
After nearly 7 years of just the two of them, they welcomed a son Caleb, and
then Justin three years later. Both boys are now in college (CSU Fresno), Caleb
studying to be a Civil Engineer and Justin preparing to become an Elementary
School Teacher.
As a couple, God has blessed them with some traveling opportunities. They lived
two years in the Seattle area of Washington State for Boeing, and two years in
Denmark for Grundfos Pumps. While in Denmark they had opportunity to visit
Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, and even had two weeks in Italy
where they met Marie's Italian relatives.
They found their home at The Bridge in 1981, after returning to the Fresno area
from Washington. Marie has been involved in numerous ministries over the years,
including AWANA, Children's Sunday School, Adult Sunday School, Women's Events,
Weekly Bible Studies, Deacon Assignments and Care Connections. Hal has been
active as well in many of these same ministries, recently adding Men's Ministry
to his list. Both their boys attend The Bridge where they are leaders in Youth
Ministries.
Women's Ministry has ministered significantly to Marie over the years. As a
young mom, she attended events that trained and encouraged her. Within the
Women's Bible Study groups she has found fellowship and accountability. Special
Events offered rest and relaxation as well as fun and fellowship, guidance and
training. It is her desire that Women's Ministry meet the needs of each and
every woman regardless of their age or stage in life. |
