Most Embarrassing Moment: When I was 9 years old I was sitting next to my
dad in the front row of our church. I was bored during the sermon, so I bent
over to tie my shoe for hopes of a distraction. As I did this I accidentally let
some "gas pass". It was so loud that the entire congregation could hear it. As
you can imagine, my Dad was not very happy with me, and on top of that my cheeks
were bright red.

Interesting Fact: I used to pull my loose teeth out with a pair of
pliers, usually before they were completely ready to fall out.
Jeff was born and raised on a farm in Dinuba, California and grew up working at
it after school and on Saturdays. Jeff has some awesome parents, Glen and Peggy,
and a younger sister, Kelsey.
Jeff was very fortunate to grow up in a home where his parents made it a point
to follow Jesus. Jeff decided to commit himself to Christ and His mission at the
age of 9, in the living room, on a Sunday night after their evening church
service. Jeff was with his Mom and Dad, and they had a chance to talk about the
decision and make it authentic.
Since then Jeff has been on an amazing faith journey, coming to know Christ more
and more all the time. It has been an extraordinary time of twists and turns and
Jeff has been stretched in ways he never dreamed. The journey has been anything
but boring. One of the unfortunate things in our world is that many people have
experienced God at one time, but they fail to experience Him all the time, so
their time with Him existed, but does not exist.
Jeff went to Dinuba High School and played both football and basketball for DHS.
He felt a call to ministry between his junior and senior year of high school at
Heartland Christian Camp, which then led him to Fresno Pacific University to
major in Contemporary Christian Ministry. Jeff worked summers at the camp
through college, and became the Director of Recreation for both junior high and
high school camps. That was quite possibly the greatest time of Jeff's life so
far. While up at Hartland he met his wife, Stephanie, but they didn't start
dating for a few years, until they were both attending FPU. Jeff says, "I love
her so much and am so lucky to have found her!"
Also, while at FPU, Jeff did his intern work at Bethany Church in north Fresno
and was then called to be the Junior High Director at The Bridge in September of
2005. |
